Description: There is a red tag affixed indicating the original purchaser & user of this desk may have been US Treasury Dept; tag details below. To the left of knee space is a faux 2-drawer panel (wider than the drawer cabinet to Rt of knee space) which opens to allow deployment of a spring-loaded typewriter table, large enough to accommodate an IBM Selectric, widely used in Federal agencies during the 1970s. The desk is able to be broken down into components to facilitate moving or transport. Center drawer and L cabinet pull-down panel have each been cut by manufacturer to accommodate vintage Yale drawer lock, but only one such lock w/ key is included, which can be installed in either location. Roll top lock shown in some photos has been removed and is not included in sale. Bezel bearing maker name "STANDARD" on bottom piece of roll top is still installed and is included in sale. The rear panel of center drawer bears handwritten number "70293," and the same number is also present on two printed labels affixed inside the roll top frame and roll top itself; this may be the maker's "job #" and may indicate year of manufacture as 1970. Several panels inside the desk bear handwritten "14 Dark." There are some numbers embossed into a piece of wood on top of what I will call the "pigeonhole assembly;" they don't match any other numbers on the item, so it may have been one of several options available, possibly assembled by a subcontractor. The red tag is affixed at far Rt of top surface of "pigeonhole assembly" and contains following data: SERIAL NUMBER (blank), Style S23, Size 60, Finish Treasury Dept Color, Date Wanted (blank), Order Number 699, For W D Campbell; in the lower Rt corner of the tag is handwritten 60. Since it is local pickup only, please do not purchase or make offer on this item until you have inspected it in person and accepted its condition. If you have a feedback score less than 10, you must either pay in cash or wait a week after inspection & purchase so there is time for payment to clear your linked bank account. If a "Make Offer" button is added to the listing, no offer will be accepted from a prospective buyer who has not physically inspected the desk in person prior to submitting the offer for consideration. I do not know weight, so am unable to provide shipping or truck freight quotes. Some trucking companies might require desk components to be packaged before acceptance, but most moving companies would not.
