Description: This is a used copy of Sonnets from the Portuguese by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The book is contained in a slipcase. The publication year on this listing is set as 1932 because a page explaining the typeface (Goudy Mediaeval) says it was set in 1932; on an earlier page in the book showing where the book was printed (USA), the Harper & Brothers printing code says "H-K", which would correspond to a publication date of August 1935. So let the publication date be whichever one you believe it to be. The slipcase has a bit of wear and cracking on the edges and corners. The book itself is in very good condition, except for a gift dedication written in ink on one of the back pages. The book comes with a browned plastic cover. I doubt it is original to the book, but it has done great work protecting the book. I am going to leave it there—unless you ask me to cut a new, clear poly cover and replace it.
