Smiths PRS-47 Commando 36mm Tropical Dial Sapphire

Description: Up for auction is this Smiths PRS-47 Commando with the brown sunburst/tropical dial. Although the paperwork on this watch says it is sapphire (see photos), when I bought it, it was the acrylic crystal version and that was why I bought it in the first place. I bought it right here on eBay in the past month. IMPORTANT: I have swapped the case and crystal on this PRS-47 with my Everest. The cases are the same (the part where the crystal fits notwithstanding), but I wanted the acrylic for my Everest. Hence, you will be getting a watch that you can’t tell is anything but normal and original, but is not. You might call it “upgraded with sapphire” if you like. These parts are fungible, so it is all original Smiths parts. The original bracelet with all links will fit up to just under an 8 inch wrist, with packaging and paperwork is all included from the original watch. I wore this for a week or so before I decided I just like the Everest best, although I would love to have this tropical dial on my Everest dial pattern. You can find out all about Smiths and the Commando online if you are unfamiliar. For overall condition, please refer to the photos but I would call this excellent. There are some swirls, but no major scratches. You will also see that this watch is keeping excellent time (see the timegrapher photo), as does my Everest. These are quality Miyota 9039 movements enclosed in a faraday cage for magnetic protection. The lume is also excellent. I highly recommend Smiths products as they are of exceptional quality.
