They didn't use brass buttons.Oak-slat trunks were built by several companies, including the Excelsior Company, MM (Martin Maier) Company, Clinton Wall Trunk Manufactory, McLeod & Shotton, and El Paso Slat Trunk Company.Very good condition for this rare find.
