Description: The Skookum doll was created by Mary Dwyer McAboy (1876-1960) in 1913 and produced until 1960. This is an 11 inch Skookum woman doll with a child. This Skookum doll is dated between 1948 and 1960, based upon the plastic shoes. The bottom of the shoes are imprinted with "SKOOKUM Bully Good INDIAN". Mary Dwyer McAboy designed the dolls' blanket clothing to represent different Native American tribes. I have not been able to identify the tribe associated with this doll's blanket. The doll comes with a wooden necklace. Please see close up picture that shows the wig has partially pulled away from the left side of the head and slightly on the right. This doll's eyes look right.
