(as this volume was acquired with a collection of his art books), who studied at Glasgow School of Art and Academie Julien. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Paris Salon Royal Academy, and the Royal Scottish Academy, amongst others. He was a talented and highly respected artist, particularly known for his scenes of country life.Covers with significant scuffing, and wear and bumping to extremities. Spine faded and worn. Previous owner's pencil inscription to first free endpaper. Some light spotting to endpapers, which are just starting to crack. Foxing to frontispiece tissue guard.
