Sire P7 Bass Guitar

Description: Welcome, fans of Sire. And there are a lot of you! Up for bids is a Sire P7 I bought new, direct from the company in 2017. It is in like-new condition, as you can see in the photos. (Sorry for not getting that shot that allows you to cruise up the complete fingerboard, but I can tell you, it's like the rest of the bass: super-nice. It's all packed up securely for its next owner.) It has a 7.25 inch radius, on a Jazz-style neck with a 1.5 inch nut width. In 2017, Sire made no claim about rolled fingerboard edges like they do now, but this thing feels pretty good in my left hand. Sound-wise, it does an excellent impression of the Precision and the Jazz. I have noticed no 60-cycle hum. For those of you that like to look under the hood, this bass has a replacement Gen 2 preamp. It works just like the Gen 1, but if a pot goes bad, that pot alone can be replaced. The Gen 1 had pots integrated into a circuit board that forced you to replace the whole thing. The toggle bypass turns off all EQ leaving you with a passive tone, volume, and balance. To me, it sounds the same as the active mode, with a much more limited tonal range. The truss rod with easy heel access works well. You'll get the wrenches for the truss rod, the original flat saddles, and the barrel saddles I have on there now. I topped the preamp off with good quality knobs, and I'm supplying you with the original knobs too, and those flat block saddles for the bridge if you want to go back to that. Look closely at the photo of the naked headstock. It shows this bass is Hipshot Ultralite-ready with an extra hole that is now hidden under the stock tuning machines. I had the USA UltraLites on this thing for several years. (Not included.) It weighs 9 pounds 2 ounces. I'm letting this bass go to make more room for other stuff. Shipping to lower 48 states only.
