Description: Description Sir Georg Solti VPO Wagner Siegfried Newly Remastered 4 SACD Hybrid JAPANProduct introduction It started in 2022 to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary and 25th anniversary of the death of Sir Georg Solti, the conductor who was responsible for the studio recording project of Wagner's masterpiece "Der Ring des Nibelungen", which was the first spectacular record in the history of recording. Third big project. Completed from 1958 to 1965 by Solti, the first-ever studio recording of "Ring of the Nibelung", a total of four studio recordings will be released at any time! But it is the best everlasting record. This 2022 remastered edition uses the DSD master produced in 2022 from the original stereo master tape in 1958. Directed by Andrew Wedman, formerly of Emil Berliner Studios, the tapes were conditioned on a Studer A820 machine and Weiss analog-to-digital converters, as well as a unique workstation to record the output. Among the 38 original master tapes, the oldest of which has passed 65 years, some tapes needed editing repairs and oxide film peeling, but tapes in poor condition should be baked at 55°C for 10 hours. We succeeded in repairing it, and performed a new mastering with a high resolution of 24bit/192kHz. Mastering was done by DECCA engineer Philip, who trained under Jimmy Locke, the engineer who was involved in the original recording sessions in 1964 and 1965 and oversaw the two transfers in 1984 and 1997. Signee is in charge. Tape hiss and noise removal uses sophisticated tools such as iZotope RX-9 and his CEDAR Retouch, which are far more effective and less invasive than previous programs, and are used to remove the Vienna Philharmonic's brass and string instruments. It lets you hear glorious overtones like never before.Work information Main Conductor: Georg Solti Orchestra: Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Tenor: Wolfgang Windgassen Soprano: Birgit Nilsson others tenor Gerhard Stolze Baritone: Gustav Knightlinger Bass: Hans Hotter, Kurt Boehme Soprano: Joan Sutherland Alto: Marga Hefgen Composer: Richard Wagner Contents Number of components | 4 sheets Total recording time | 03:57:18 Edition | Remaster Track Listing Richard Wagner: Siegfried Performer Wolfgang Windgassen (tenor: Siegfried) Birgit Nilsson (soprano: Brünnhilde) Gerhard Stolze (tenor: Mime) Gustav Knightlinger (Baritone: Alberich) Hans Hotter (bass-baritone: Wanderer) Joan Sutherland (Soprano: Birds of the Woods) Kurt Boehme (bass: Fafner) Marga Hefgen (Alto: Elda) Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Conductor: Sir Georg Solti recording May and October 1962 Vienna, Sophiensaal Audio: CD Stereo / SA-CD Stereo Shipping We will select and ship from Fedex, DHL, Japan Post.Additional shipping charges may be incurred if otherwise specified. Please be sure to contact us before ordering. We will aim to dispatch all orders within 5 days of confirmed payment.
