If you've ever tried to adjust the leveling of a large, heavy Sinar view camera, or a camera pointing straight down, you know how different it can be to make precision adjustments. The VAPO solves this problem by rotating the camera around its rail with a large, self arresting adjustment wheel. Turning the wheel results in only slight leveling adjustments, giving you the most precise leveling capability available, while the wheel still spins easily enough to let you make larger adjustments. Once you have your camera set properly, the VAPO locks in place with the turn of a lever. Not to be confused with the much lighter Sinar Rail Clamp 2 which needs two separate Sinar extension rails on both sides of the clamp. Using two rails can throw off the camera's front and rear alignment. The VAPO uses just the cameras 12 inch rail or longer, meaning a single rail is then clamped inside the VAPO clamp and avoiding front and rear standard alignment issues for critical focus and macro work. The VAPO clamp offered here is in mint condition with no signs of wear and operating as smooth as new. Sinar made the VAPO clamp a very short time for their more demanding customers. Extremely rare and impossible to find today. This clamp will last forever. It was one of two we bought for our studio when shooting 8x10 and never needed the backup.
