Description: REPORT FROM ENGINE CO. 82 Fireman Dennis Smith's excellent account of working for the busiest and most dangerous firefighting company in New York City. The book was a surprise bestseller of 1972 and remains in print today. This copy is from the fifth printing of the hardcover first edition. It is signed by Smith on the first page, with no personalized inscription. Extremely rare thus. The book remains in average used condition. The jacket is clean and snug but has a fair amount of wear about the edges, including a quarter-size chip at the back bottom edge. The book itself has minor wear at the edges; sound binding; large owner name inside the front cover (mostly covered by the jacket flap); the text is a little toned with age, otherwise very nice. A decent copy made truly valuable by the scarce autograph. Measures 5.75" X 8.5", 215 pages. Ships promptly & securely.
