Description: Description Japanese Mashiko ware Persimmon Kaki glaze square Vase By TAKEO SUDO "Disciple of Shoji Hamada" with signed TAKEO SUDO wooden box. And it says year of manufacture 1986. It is a typical Mashiko ware piece with a nice persimmon glaze and hand-painted red painting Akae. TAKEO SUDO (1931 - 1998) 1931 Born in Mashiko, Japan. Study under Shoji Hamada. 1973 Visit China on behalf of Tochigi prefecture. 1974 Have an exhibition at Tokyo Matsuzakaya 24 years in a row 1977 Receive a prize of the second Kita-kanto art exhibition. 1978 Build klin in front of Hamada Mashiko sankokan. 1981 Publish book "Mashiko no tsuti ni ikiru" Living with soil of Mashiko. 1987 Be on the panel of judges "Tochigi-ken ceramist organization". 1993 The Persimmon glaze Mentori Akae Vase was presented to the Crown Princess Masako. 1994 The Persimmon glaze big plate was donated to the Kyoto Ohara Sanzenin. 1998 Died in Mashiko on December. Excellent condition. No chips, no cracks. Please check them out with many photographs.
