Lawrence Doubleday & Doran & Co., 1935 HC/NoDJ The book offered was privately printed in 1925, and then published in 1935 for general distribution in the USA by Doubleday, Doran & Company. The author, T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, was a British Army officer who wrote about his experiences during the Arab Revolt and Sinai and Palestine campaign against the Ottoman Empire during WWI. Some consider the autobiographical account one of the best. The overall condition of the heavy (4lbs.) 10 1/8" x 7 3/4" x 1 3/4" volume is good/very good. There is minimal shelf wear to the front & back exterior cover edges and corners, with a small blemish on the back. The spine cloth with faded gild title, author & publisher is a bit darker than the front and back exterior boards. In contrast, the decorative gild title on the front cover is crisp and bright. The binding and pages are tight and clean with illustrations/portraits of key figures scattered throughout the book along sketches and maps. The top edge of the exterior page edge is tinted brown with some discoloration/watermarks and stain. There is quite prominent discoloration on the interior front and end boards but not on other end or interior pages and beyond.There is no dust jacket. Please study the photos. Questions welcomed.
