Many of you probably remember me for my hand crafted Birdhouses, Duck houses, Bird and Deer Feeders etc. Well, I had to step away for a few years to go to another job, but I again have the time to bring you back my quality cedar products you have come to know and love! Each Owl house is hand crafted in the USA by me using 3/4” thick Solid Cedar! These are not 5/8”, they are a SOLID 3/4” thick. But I can also offer these and any other of my products in 5/8” if you want a lighter little less expensive one. The listing pictures may show 1 or several houses in one photo. This beautiful, hand-made Screech Saw Whet Owl box is hand crafted for you one at a time!It is made entirely of 3/4" cedar. Nice and Solid!The front door of this owl house is removable for easy cleaning and also has 45 degree corner cuts in the floor for proper drainage.Overall dimensions of this owl box are Approx 5.75" wide x 18"-20" tall x 8" deep (including roof).The nesting area is approx 4" x 5.5"For best results, mount 10 to 20 feet high in a large, dense tree.Made in the USA!Screech Owls and Saw-whet Owls have tough competition with other birds for natural cavities because they are so small.The charming 7" owls can become quite tame.They nest in deep woods, preferably near swamps.They like coniferous woods and evergreen thickets in parks and gardens.They typically breed in southeastern Alaska, east across central Canada to Nova Scotia and south to southern California, Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina (in mountains) and up to northern part of the east coast.They like to spend their winters and breed south to Arkansas and North Carolina. ***I use all 1 ¼” exterior rated galvanized nails and screws for each house*** Pre-Drilled mounting holes (screws not included) ***The hole is 3" With the Resting Perch inside the house*** There are Kerf Cuts the length of the inside front panel for making it easier for the young ones to get to the hole.Just below the bottom of the hole on the inside of the panel, is a kerf cut resting perch.This allows for the owls to stay safe inside the house while still enjoying the view.By keeping the perch inside, this allows the hole to be proper size and not to large which can put the house at risk of other predators. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that this is all Natural real Cedar. It will have splinters, knots, various colors (including graying), grains, dirt, cracks, scratches, holes, twists, turns, bows, etc. etc. It’s wood! When it’s outside it can get wet or dry, which can cause it to have the chance to split, warp, crack, blow away, etc. Nothing leaves my shop that I didn’t craft myself with the best quality cedar I can supply to you, so please rest assure!I dry and store my cedar outside, sometimes there can be graying on the boards... Anything that is grayor has a gray tint to it will be placed towards the back, bottom or inside of the house. I have a 100% positive feedback rating and strive to keep it that way.
