Even the president is a professional guitarist with a rather busy concert schedule. The vast majority of Schecter employees have extensive musical experience (live tours, studio recording) ... for this reason, when it comes to designing and creating musical instruments, they know very well what they are talking about! They live with the same passion that unites us all! The search for sound and the right feeling make Schecter one of the most professional and prestigious brands of electric guitars and basses. The company opened its doors in 1976 by David Schecter, Herschel Blankenship and Shel Horlick, its founders, in Van Nuys, California, initially setting it up as a shop dedicated to the repair of electric instruments, offering its own parts of various types, from hardware to wooden parts, but without ever assembling complete guitars. This happened in 1979, the year in which Schecter first offered complete electric guitars, essentially replicas of FENDER of those years, hand-built by a special Custom Shop, therefore highly performing and expensive and sold in a very exclusive way throughout the national territory. The exclusivity of Schecter branded instruments was given by some peculiar characteristics that distinguished the brand in those years:   the use of exotic woods for the construction of the bodies (koa, mahogany, bubinga, paduak, zebrawood...) and necks (koa, figured maple, cocobolo, pau ferro, purple heart...) of the instruments, without the application of a solid covering finish (and therefore the aesthetic advantage of the "living" wood that the instruments brought with them). Again to avoid any covering of the exotic wood, the necks were made of a single piece of wood, therefore without the separate gluing of the fingerboard;the brass hardware, in order to increase the vibration of the strings, a prerogative of few manufacturers of the time;pickups more powerful than those offered by other brands, while maintaining a high sound dynamic; among these the F500T model used for a certain period by the guitarist Mark Knopfler; these magnets were particularly appreciated in that period also for their combination with some pickguards that were offered "with Schecter electronics", that is, built with mini toggle switches multiple for greater usability of the magnets themselves (they were 3-position switches, that is, with the possibility of having each pickup used in full, tapped and excluded). Such sets of original pickguards-pickups are still highly prized today as rarities and sold for very high prices. It was during these years that the definition of "Dream Machines" for the instruments that came out of the Schecter custom shop became established, due to the huge value of the pieces sold. The same Schecters owned by Mark in those years (including the STRATOCASTER with a black finish Candy Apple Red present in several live shows - including Alchemy Live - and in the video of Tunnel Of Love, a sunburst with gold pickguard, a Daphne Blue color and a red TELECASTER ) are known to be Dream Machines. In those years, the brand was helped in its proliferation by famous endorsers of the calibre of Pete Townshend (to whom Schecter dedicated a model, today re-proposed by the Korean Diamond series, known as "PT", a TELECASTER with two humbuckers) and the aforementioned Mark Knopfler. Schecter products are currently distributed in over 150 countries worldwide thanks to a dense network of distributors carefully selected for their experience, professionalism and customer support. The Schecter catalog is constantly expanding and evolving to try to meet the needs of any musician and any musical genre and, for this reason, one of the company's strong points is the large group of high-level and world-famous testimonials it can boast, artists of the past and more current artists, including: Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, The Cure, Papa Roach, Seether, Prince, Stone Temple Pilots, Nevermore, Black Label Society, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Steve Lukather (Toto), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) and many more!PRODUCT DETAILS 25 ½ scale bolt-on electric guitarbasswood body with figured maple topmaple handleRosewood fingerboard with “vector” inlays22 jumbo fretsCream binding on body, neck and headstock2 Schecter high output alnico humbucker pickupspush/pull coil tapControls: tone + volume with 3-position selectorstring-through tom bridgehardware: chromecolor: amber In Schecter everyone, and we repeat, everyone is a musician, with different influences and artistic backgrounds, but musicians.
