Description: This 26 inch saw is marked Henry Disston & Sons on the etch and Disston on the medallion. It has the early style apple handle and the 23 inside the D on the etch so it is for sure a pre 1928 version. They started using this type medallion in 1917 so there is an 11 year window that this saw falls in, pretty narrow date range for a tool like this. The plate looks good when sighting down the teeth until the last inch or less at the toe where you can see a bow start, maybe dropped on the toe or caught the tip in the cut, I'm thinking if you can sharpen a saw you can get this one running, might not be the easiest tune up but easily a savable saw. The plate has not been cleaned by me, not sure if anyone has done more than wipe it off, I always liked that period skin intact like this. For information on old tools the resources at Mid West Tool Collectors Association are top notch. They have links collected there for everything antique tool related.https://mwtca.org/useful-reference/ Make sure to check out my other items, I will combine shipping just wait for the invoice. I am in a selling mood, it's not Christmas yet but schit has to go, offers is set to let me see offers that I don't think I'll take, might change my mind..........
