Description: A 5 3/4" tall clear-glass SCARCE OVAL shaped JUMBO PEANUT BUTTER jar that is entirely covered with slanted embossed ridges. It has a GREAT embossed picture of JUMBO the ELEPHANT! on it and it is an odd, weird 14 ounce size = 7/8th of a lb?! This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE mold blown jar with a screw top, dating from the early to mid 1900's. Jar embossed: "JUMBO / BRAND / 14 OZ. / PEANUT BUTTER / FRANK TEA & SPICE CO. / CINCINNATI, O." Lower backside of jar embossed "MADE FROM / NO. 1 GRADE PEANUTS".Condition: Jar is in excellent clean condition. It has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The jar's LID is an antique Mason Fruit Jar zinc lid.Age: This is an old mold blown (ABM) screw top jar which dates back to the early-mid 1900's. I am not sure why the difference, but this one is a distinctively oval shape. Maybe it was the predecessor or successor to the round one pound jars, I don't know, but I do know that the oval jars are not commonly found, a HARD - TO - FIND jar. What else is unusual about this jar is that it is an odd 14 ounce size jar (7/8 th of a pound -- we cannot remember seeing a Jumbo Peanut Butter jar that was 14 oz)?!
