Description: This is a rare 1-sided acetate record that plays at 78 RPM. Dated April 20, 1947. The artist is SAM MINEO, a prominent 1940s-era pianist, who was once a member of "The Hollywood Radio City Orchestra", and also Buffalo NY's "Shea's Buffalo City Orchestra and Stage Band" - he even once co-wrote a song for Frank Sinatra, "Just Close Your Eyes". Acetate was pressed by National Broadcasting Company (the then-West Coast division of NBC). The announcer at the beginning announces that the recording is "coming from "Radio City in Hollywood" - which I think was a big TV and radio studio at that time. I believe this location was on the Corner of Sunset Blvd and Vine St. You will even hear the iconic three-note NBC "I.D." tones at the end of side one! (you've heard this at the end of million vintage TV programs). Side one features 1 song. Side two is blank. The song selection on this disc, from what I can gather from the voice announcing the song, once acted as a regular segment of either a TV show or Radio Show called "Solo Spotlight" (FYI, if you look at my other eBay listings, I am currently offering several more "Solo Spotlight" acetates from various weeks in 1946 and 1947). Side one features one song: "Full Moon At The Hour". Side runs approximately 5 minutes. Disc has just a bit of light crackling sound here and there. Disc has some light lines on the playing surface, and areas of what I would call "storage filminess" but looks clean otherwise, especially for its age (it's 78 years old!) and plays just fine. No cracks. The blank back side of disc shows some age spots or storage filminess, as seen in photo 3. Disc is housed in a plain manila sleeve.
