Description: Celebrate the bountiful harvest with this delightful 7-piece Thanksgiving Dinner Pilgrims set by Midwest of Cannon Falls. Crafted from high-quality resin, this handmade set features a pilgrim man and woman, a trestle table, and four food figurines, all beautifully designed by artist Eddie Walker. The multicolor set is perfect for any Thanksgiving occasion and is sure to add a touch of charm to your holiday table. Weighing in at 1 lb 8.6 oz, this set is a great addition to any collection of holiday collectibles. The table measures 6.5 inches in length and 2 inches in height, with a man height of 6.75 inches and a woman height of 6.5 inches. Made in China, this set is a must-have for any collector or for anyone looking to add a unique touch to their Thanksgiving decor. We purchased this set at an estate sale and could not get any history from the seller. Since there are no marks on any of the pieces and only "Made In China" on stickers on the bottom of some of the figurines. Using Google Lens and eBay photo lookup software I was unable to find these items. The closest I could come was almost identical pieces that were original wood carvings by Eddie Walker and, cast in resin in China, hand painted and marketed by Midwest of Cannon Falls located in Minnesota, USA. This company which was founded in 1952 was a wholesaler specializing in home decor items. The company has changed its name and ownership multiple times, and I am having problems finding someone who recognizes my figurines. The differences that I note between what I have and those attributed to Eddie Walker are the lack of a smile on the man and woman and things like my man has a belt and my woman has a scarf. There are many less obvious differences like the items in the horn of plenty at the woman's feet. If this is an authentic Eddie Walker designed set of figurines sold by Midwest of Cannon Falls, IT MUST BE EXTREMELY RARE. Until I can positively identify its provenance; I have to price it as though the set is indeed rare and highly collectible. If anyone reading this could assist me in verifying provenance, I would be most grateful. If I get the provenance, I will undoubtedly change the price accordingly. I have heard from one collector of Eddie Walker pieces who said that this is NOT by Eddie Walker. I have asked for details as to why he insists that this is the case, he has not replied and when I asked him if he knew who the artist was; he said that he does not know who it could be. When I hold these pieces in my hands and look at them with magnification (or if you enlarge the photographs) you see the details of the original carvings, the care in which it was hand painted, the fact that the carving was reproduced in resin (which only someone who expected to recover this expensive undertaking would do): This along with the replies from this (self-proclaimed) serious collector implies only one thing to me: I have to wonder who the actual artist was and what entity paid to make copies of this persons work and I have to question the motives of this collector. From the quality of the carving (and the resemblance to his later work) and the execution of this copy I have to conclude that this may indeed have been a very early piece by Eddie Walker, produced by Midwest as a prototype before they went into mass production and that it may be the only one in existence. Since I bought this at an estate sale from a very wealthy estate where the original owners of this art-piece are deceased, I cannot know its provenance! Given all of this, I have to assume (until proven otherwise)! I am not reducing the price, instead I am removing it from a fall sale that I am currently having. Since I am not certain that this is indeed Eddie Walker's product or that it it's maker was Midwest of Cannon Falls, I have revised the title by adding "LIKE". This means that I are not certain that the attributes that you are applying to the item may not be correct. I am not an appraiser or an expert on any item that I am selling. All that I can do is to do adequate research and to accurately use this research to describe the item. This task is very much complicated when you purchase the item at an estate sale or auction because provenance is not available due to fact that the people who know the items history are not known or available. I have noticed on other online marketing sites, that an item's attributes are usually determined by taking a picture and using one of the image search programs to try to find an identical item or else at least a very similar item to research to find out what the beautiful object actually is; so that you can describe the item to potential customers as honestly as possible. One thing is certain! If anyone thinks that you are purposely portraying an item that you are selling as something it is not, there will be someone who has a lawyer who will sue you for everything have. Honest mistakes can and will happen. And they will occur with everyone. Unfortunately, Sellers have so many more opportunities to make mistakes. In our case we currently over 350 lots on eBay. This is why I solicit information from knowledgeable buyers so that I can correct the mistakes that I make. Remember the online Golden Rule - BEWARE!
