Description: Up for sale is an old primitive wood staved canteen or flask. It has metal loops on each side to attached a string or strap to hang around the neck or off of a saddle. I have no idea as to the age and origin of this piece, perhaps you do. I did an internet search for its origin and the closest thing that came to it was a soliders canteen, but the size and hoops were a little different. I can't attest to the age or origin of this item, but it does not appear to be a reproduction of any kind. All I know is that it is old and that a friend of mine picked it up at an antiques dealer in SW Ohio years ago as he thought it was cool and ended up leaving it to me as a gift. I have no use for it. What you see is what you will receive. No return accepted due to age of item. It has 2 metal loops on each side, and the metal hoops around it are removable. The wooden bottom appears to have been either replaced, stained, or both. I water tested it and Yes, it does leak! Thanks for looking!
