Description: This vintage Russian Lacquer Box by a professional artist from the village of Fedoskino includes the certificate of authenticity. Lacquer box shows a scene from a Russian fairy tale. Completely made by hand in Russia from papier-mache, hand painted and signed by the artist, in faint ink it appears to read Pedockuho with a gold 339. Traditional red on the inside. Has a brilliant glow from oil paints and many layers of lacquer. One of the feet on bottom is missing. There are a few small chips along edges and some cracking in the glaze on top, see photos. Measures 7" x 5.5" x 2.5." Weighs 1 lb. 4 oz. Sorry about glare from window!
