Description: Rare Soviet 1950th "26" denomination brass token for automated food vending machines. This type is rare in good grades as most of these tokens went through heavy circulation. These tokens ranged in denomination from 1 to 32 and were struck exclusively for the Soviet Interior Trade Ministry. The earliest Soviet mechanical food dispensers for automated cafeterias were manufactured in the USSR in the mid-1950th for the 1957 World Youth Festival in Moscow. Brass alloy; about 24.1 mm in diameter, thick planchet; about 10.9 grams. No dings or rim nicks; not cleaned with original patina throughout.
