Between 1930 and 1935, he spent his life between Santander and Madrid, where he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. It was at this time that he was deeply linked to the Laredano painter Santiago Montes and the sculptors Jesús Otero and José Villalobos. In 1932, he participated in the Regional Art Exhibition, inaugurated at the Santander Fair on July 29.
