Description: Royal Delft Black Scratch Cherry Blossom Wall Plates & Bowl Antique Black Delft A beautiful collection of Black Delft dishes. Large Plate - marked C.I. for 1964 production. 9.5 inches diameter - Has holes for hanging on display 4 small Plates / Coasters - C.H. for 1963 production. 4 inches diameter - Has holes for hanging on display. Decorated by 3 different artists. Bowl - marked C.H. for 1963 production. 5.75 inches diameter x 2 5/8 inches high I sent pictures to Royal Delft for confirmation and I will include a copy of the email response that I received and listed below: Black Delft (Oudijk) 1957-1964 In 1957 attempts were made to produce Black Delft. The background was covered with a dark greyish-black colour in which a decoration was scratched. This decoration, designed by G.H. Oudijk, usually consisted of flowering sprigs. The scratched lines were subsequently coloured in with brown, yellow and red. This so-called black scratch earthenware was not very profitable, however, and the production was discontinued several years later. Good antique condition. No chips, cracks or flea bites. READ - All 6 pieces of this set are heavily crazed. Also, the small plates have surface rubs between flowers. Please see last pictures. (I have no idea how those rubbed areas occurred and they are very evenly spaced on all the plates.) Please see pictures for detail description.
