Description: This watercolor painting was done by Navajo artist Robert Draper (1938-2000). It shows a snow covered landscape on the Navajo reservation. A Navajo hogan is in the foreground and the well known Shiprock formation is in the background with a dramatic cloud filled sky.The painting has been nicely matted, framed and covered with glass. The frame measures 18" x 15 1/2". The image size inside the mat is 10 3/4" x 8 5/8". It is signed in the lower left. This painting is in great vintage condition.Robert Draper was born in 1938 on the Navajo (Diné) Reservation. He attended the Chinle, Arizona Boarding School and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Today he is an art instructor and a full-time artist.
