The band returns to areas known for the group's first decade of work, but despite some stylistic references to previous albums, the latest album is definitely the beginning of a new musical journey for Riverside.The band has fully recovered from the loss of a tragically deceased friend (guitarist Piotr Grudziński died in 2016), grieved and began a new chapter in their career. The distinctive 'riverside' rock-metal misch-mash that Riverside has become accustomed to over the years comes here in a refreshed and extremely dynamic formula. Varsovians on "ID.Entity" sound more confident than ever before. The concept and text layer itself are also of great merit."ID.Entity" is the first material recorded in the new line-up, with guitarist Maciej Meller being an official member of Riverside from 2020. Meller fits into the band's stylistic frame, emphasizing both the distinctive "riverside plays" and adding its own character to playing the instrument.It is also the first album in the band's career, the graphic design of which is the responsibility of the Polish artist Jarek Kubicki, who perfectly found himself in the visual version presented so far by the band.The material was recorded and mixed this time in two recording studios - At The Boogie Town Studio in Otwock under the supervision of Paweł Marciniak and at the Serakos Studio in Warsaw under the supervision of Magda and Robert Srzednicki. Mastering was done by Robert Szydło, who cooperated with the band on concert recordings. This time Mariusz Duda himself took up production.Is it possible to be yourself these days without being interested in what is happening in the world? Is it possible to live among people without being interested in social changes that are taking place at an ever faster pace? Riverside says on his latest album that this is not possible. And he stresses that to survive these difficult times, we need self-awareness, empathy, community, and both the support of the other person and cutting ourselves off from all those who let venom into our lives, divide us, and antagonize us.
