Description: DATING TO THE 1830’S - 1840’S THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST BONNET OF ITS TYPE FOR BOTH ITS FABRIC AS WELL AS CONDITION THAT WE HAVE EVER OFFERED FASHIONED OF A BROWN PLAID AND RED STRIPED COTTON FABRIC AND IS SEWN FULLY BY HAND AND IS BATTED ON THE INTERIOR AND FINELY HAND QUILTED WITH A LARGE MODESTY RUFFLE AROUND THE BOTTOM. ORIGINAL SHORT TIES ON THE INTERIOR AND THE BRIM CAN BE FOLDED UP. CONDITION: THE COLORS OF THE FABRIC ARE FULLY TRUE WITH NO FADING. THERE IS ONE ERASER SIZED BROWN STAIN ON THE SIDE LEFT BRIM THAT IS HIDDEN WHEN THE BRIM IS TURNED OVER AND A ONE INCH SIDE SEAM TO THE MODESTY RUFFLE HAS COME OPEN AND NEEDS TO BE RESTITCHED INTO PLACE.
