Description: Here is a fully functional 21-year-old system in a stylish gray and white ATX tower case, sold by Micron as their original MPC Clientpro. This month I replaced the CMOS battery, power supply, and DVD ROM drive, wiped the hard drive and reinstalled WIndows XP with all necessary drivers. It is now ready to install your favorite applications, from floppy diskette, CD, or from a USB flash drive. This is a tower case from the days when many people still used multiple 5.25" drives. The case is 17.4" inches tall and 19" deep. With a DVD burner, Zip drive, floppy drive and 3.5" hard drive installed there are still three empty drive bays for installing additional drives: one exposed 5.25", one hidden plus one exposed 3.5" drive bay. I replaced the original power supply with a newer 500W ATX PSU. The heart of the system is an Intel micro-ATX motherboard with an Intel 865G chipset for most socket 478 CPUs. I include a 2800 MHz Pentium 4 processor with a 533 MHz FSB and 1MB cache. There are four 184-pin sockets for DDR1 SDRAM with two 512MB DIMMs installed (1GB usable). Maximum RAM is 4GB. The motherboard includes connectors for two PS/2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a parallel port and one DB9 serial ports, all in back. There are four more USB ports, audio connectors and a Firewire 400 port on the case front. Audio is provided by an Analog Devices/SoundMax AC' 97 chip. An Intel 10/100 ethernet port, and IEEE 1394 Firewire 400 card are still installed (although I could not find the right software for the Firewire card) The AGP graphics card uses a GeForce2 MX with 64MB of SDRAM. The motherboard still has one PCI slot free. The original 1.44MB floppy drive is still working. I have replaced the original 80GB IDE hard drive and DVD-ROM with a Seagate 120GB drive and 8X DVD-RW. I have added a clean installation of Windows XP with Service Pack 3. I kept the 750MB Iomega Zip drive installed, although I think it is bad. It ejects disks normally, but I could not get it to read any of my 100MB Zip disks. I am happy to answer any questions about this system before your purchase. You will receive the exact tower case and internal components pictured here. I do not include any keyboard, monitor, mouse power cord, or software I do offer a 30 day return privilege but return shipping is at the buyer's expense. Shipping charges are calculated by eBay with no handling fee. Local pickup in zip code 60438 is free.
