DESCRIPTION Red Norvo - “Red Norvo’s Fabulous Jam Session” Spotlite Records 107 (Mono) from 1975. Hard to find Original Reissue of the famous 1945 Comet Sessions featuring Norvo, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Flip Phillips, Slam Stewart, Teddy Wilson and either Specs Powell or J.C. Heard. Originally released on the Dial label as Dial 903, Side One is the “First Masters” and Side Two is Outakes of the same songs. In the Original Cover with NO Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. CONDITION The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight shelf wear. The top seam is part split about 5” from the opening edge and the bottom seam has about a 1-1/2” part split in the center. Still solid with no writing, stains, tears, etc. and would rate VG overall. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs but still close to New condition. Visually at least VG+ and plays nicely although you should be aware that there is some light groove noise and soft tics in spots, I believe mostly all on the Acetate source materiel although it is possible that it could use a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels are Near Mint. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
