Description: A Pair (2) of the sturdy and effectiveDark Victory Armory Belt Slung Tassets Built of High Density Polyethylene, these Tassets provide rugged protection in full contact rattan sword fighting combat or LARPing. These are intended to be hung from an arming belt to provide armor coverage vs blunt impact. Unlike integral tassets these can hang from a belt by means of two sturdy leather belt loops which can better position them adjacent to the body. The multi plate varieties are articulated on the rear with steel rivets run through two sturdy 9-11 oz strip of high grade top grain leather. The exposed face or reveal on the articulated plate is plate is typically 5". Each plate measures 8" tall x 5 1/2" wide.The single tasset measures about 11 1/2" from belt loops to bottom of plate.The two plate articulation covers about 16" from top of belt loops to bottom of second tasset.The 3 plate articulation cover about 21" from top of belt loops to bottom of third tasset.All edges have been heat treated to give a smooth and safe rounding. This armor is entirely compression rivet free as the rivets we use are superior splay type that grip the leather and can't disassemble. Failures are rare & easy to fix. Fight all day. It is designed for speedy armoring up and down. Although light in weight, these tassets are nearly indestructible and extraordinarily tough. Although some areas ask that exposed plastic be covered in tournaments, this armor exceeds all known world standards for protection. This armor has been extremely popular and we previously had it listed with only the standard 3 plate variety that is a good balance between mobility and protection. But because tastes and needs differ we have closed that auction and re-listed it with this larger variety of options for the number of lames included with this armor. Most fighters go with the standard set of 3 lames. But because of the popularity of a full upper arm coverage, we are now offering both more and less as may suit the fighter who will wear them. Please note that the variations in price also reflect the changes in shipping weight and overall eBay and PayPal commission which affects our cost to get it to you.Arm Coverage Tableplate - Standard protection - A single plate tasset cover most of the vulnerable spots below the breastplate but above the legs. plates - extended protection - For fighters who want a bit more of their leg or hip protected this configuration half way down the thigh on most fighters. plates - full protection - This extends the tassets all the way down near to the knee on on most fighters. Because someone has mistakenly ordered a pair of these thinking they are made of leather, I'd like to state categorically that despite their similar appearance they are NOT made of leather and are instead made of HDPE plastic. Leather IS used to hang them from the belt with two sturdy loop and for the articulation on multi plate tassets on the rear. Using HDPE make them rust proof, mildew free, & easy to clean. You can even swim in them as they float! (no, not coast guard approved). A note on handling time: We generally ship in just a few days.
