This fabulous Trilobite stands perfectly on its natural matrix and has been naturally preserved so that it is almost in a 'crawling' position. The detail in this particular specimen is just amazing and every part of the trilobite has been preserved and highlighted by the painstaking restoration. We have photographed the Trilobite next to a yellow cube which is 1cm x 1cm to give you an idea of how large it is - You'll love it !!Trilobites were marine creatures that were one of the earliest groups of arthropods, and some of the most successful animals of their time, roaming the oceans for over 270 million years! The name Trilobite, meaning ‘Three Lobes’, was given to them due to their body being made up of three sections: a head, body, & tail. Although it is not uncommon to find whole Trilobite fossils, it can be a lot more common to find them incomplete, missing different parts of the three sections. These creatures varied in size, ranging from only a few millimetres to some species measuring in at around 12 inches.
