Description: Rare WN Owens North Carolina Pottery Bowl. This lovely red earthenware redware bowl was likely made ca 1960 by famed potter WN Owens. The glaze is a lovely orange with glaze inclusions from the wood firing. Clearly marked on the base. A great example of Southern American folk art pottery. Size: 8 1/2" by 2 1/2" Condition: Displays beautifully. Some glaze loss. There is a stress crack from the making, showing primarily from the inside. Barely visible to the exterior in one area. Appears to be glazed over. Still rings well.
