Rich fawn tan suede and leather trim at edge of shoes and buckles. Buckles have suede lacing. 3-1/2" kitten stiletto heel. A beautifully made and designed shoe. They appear to be handmade in Florence. Fontana gowns, dresses, shoes/ pumps and accessories are found in collections at the Metropolitan Museum and other world class Museums with fashion collections around the world. Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor were just a few of the Fontana regular clients. Ava Gardner wore a gorgeous Fontana gown in the 1954 film "The Barefoot Contessa." " A devoted client of the Fontana Sisters, on and off the screen, her patronage helped them to gain notoriety and achieve the success they did, particularly in America. Known for their wasp-waisted, full-skirted evening dresses dripping with style." In lightly worn condition, see all pics. Some light marks on suede which may clean out or lighten, faint short possible ink mark on inside face of rt. shoe. Edge of leather buckles, rt shoe mostly, could use a few tiny spots of polish, see detail pic which is magnified. Scuffed soles and sole threads at very toe point. Overall they're really in terrific vintage condition. Very clean looking inside. Hand marked size both shoes, 7B or (can't read this- maybe #3), 801037. A friend that wears American size 7 found this shoe to be too small for her foot, the shoe is narrow. Shoe bed in 1 reads " Firense Last, Designed by Fontana of Rome, A Florsheim Exclusive". Other shoe bed reads "" Firense Last, Made Expressly For Kerns, Detroit ". That would make one think the size is American sizing. They measure approx. 9-1/2" long from toe tip to back of foot bed taken when sitting on paper marking toe and very back of foot bed, approx. 3-1/4" across at widest part of sole, heel 3-1/2" tall.
