I think they would be better for a modern 24-the actual waist measures 26" total-but please check measurements and compare them to your best fitting jeans. They are in good/loved/broken in condition for age, and have a rad patina/signs of use/ground in dirt/etc that make them AMAZING in my opinion...and a professional repair below the bum (see pics-it kinda sits under the bum when they are on so its not too noticeable), also a hole in the front but the pocket covers it so it doesn't show skin (see pics).
