Description: Here is an Antique Royal Copenhagen Pair of (2) Embracing Orangutans Figurine, Number 709. These two great apes are a spectacular and rare piece. Designed by Danish Sculptor Knud Kyhn (1880-1969). This piece is in the incredible orange and purple underglaze colorway. The figurine is factory first quality, made and hand painted in Denmark before 1923. It is in fantastic condition with no apparent damages. The piece measures approximately 5 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches tall. The figuring is in excellent condition. There is no apparent damage -- no chips cracks or repair. There are some normal factory irregularities and light wear. Small area with no glaze at tip of one monkey's elbow and small glaze variance on one hand. Both from factory production.
