Description: Condition:Vinyl=NM Cover=VG+ with some bending and creasing in the top-right corner area and some rub-wear to the two left-side corners The autographed inner sleeve is EX The story of this LP When I was a teenager visiting relatives in Southern California, one of them had done some legal work for, and had befriended REO Speedwagon drummer Alan Gratzer and his wife. He needed to drop them something, and so asked if he could bring me by. Their 1980 High Infidelity LP had recently taken the band from being FM-Radio Rockers (now called "Classic Rock") to huge AM-Radio pop-stars, in a way that for people not alive (or old enough) to remember, may not comprehend, since it wasn't that long-lived. Truth is my tastes had now veered towards New Wave and Punk Rock music, but I think they were relieved when I was familiar with and could talk about REO's mid-70's records which I still had and had been more into as a younger-dude, and not someone who thought they only had just the one LP (which they were likely getting a lot). One of the things that always stuck with me about the visit, is they had their framed "Gold/Platinum" RIAA record awards in a only semi-secured (but covered) back porch like area of their house (as opposed to a farther in, and out-of-sight and safer location) so I asked why? And they told me that if someone broke in, they much rather they take those award-things (and hopefully be satisfied) rather than go deeper into the house and take the things they actually use and need! It was a great lesson in perspective for someone my age, especially coming from a "rock star". They were super nice folks, and at the end of the short visit Alan said when the band next came to Oregon he would put me "on-the-list". I said "great, thank you", but didn't really expect him to remember. But he did, and when I used the backstage passes he had left for me after the concert, he already had this LP signed by the others and ready to give to me, and introduced me to the band, and I said thank you and left shortly after. And that was the extent of my history with the band! So that's the story of how this LP came to be signed, but there's only going to be a limited amount of room for LPs in my coffin, so....!!As you might expect, the Alan Gratzer signature is personalized, while the others are not.
