This is a never to be made again Pewabic Tile ! Not even special order will get you this - Why ? I found out from Pewabic that this special tile has DOUBLE Glazing . 1st platinum / palladium glaze at Pewabic on Jefferson in Detroit - this alone is unique for Pewabic - glaze master at Pewabic did the metallic glaze - then all tiles were sent to Ohio for another glaze master to add a 2nd glaze on top a special iridescent glaze - that doesn't seem like 'regular' iridescent but adds to the highly reflective nature of the tile - Pewabic can recreate nearly any past glazes for a large upfront fee - however this can't be recreated due to double glaze process . I live near Pewabic Tile in Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit and picked these up at an estate sale down the street in Indian Village - Detroit . My Seller acquired them from a relative who worked at the tile / construction company charged with installing them right after installation and didn't use them . I had authenticated by Pewabic . Photos do not accurately describe the reflective beauty and heft of the tiles . Vertically hung they appear mirror like in reflective quality . Stunning really . Rare Rare Rare leftover from Public Art / Tile installation done by Pewabic - as these are 'field tiles' not decorative they are not stamped or signed because they were just getting installed on a wall - not being sold to public - however all other Pewabic signs are there size , corners , edging , master glaze .
