Description: Original, late-1850s ambrotype of a grave marker, surrounded by fencing and large trees. Writing is faintly visible under magnification but there's no way I can make any of the words out. Large half-plate, case measuring 6" x 4.75" when closed. Ambrotype is in very good antique condition overall, the top-right area is dark, possibly lack of good lighting at the original location. Case is complete and intact and in excellent condition. I have provided a scan and a couple of cell phone pics... My scans often seem to come out too dark. .but the cell phone pics were taken under a desktop lamp and uploaded directly to this listing with NO EDITING...they should give a good idea of what this image looks like in very good indoor lighting or outdoor daylight.
