Description: Ultra rare Kurt Cobain-owned fan mail. This letter from “Rich” was sent on September 27th 1990 from England and is addressed to Nirvana, as per the mailing address provided on the back cover of Bleach. The envelope has dirt on it and displays what seems to be Kurt Cobain’s footprint. For reference, please see the photo of his shoe sole as taken on March 8th 1991 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, Canada (photo by Charles Peterson). In the letter, Rich makes a joke about Nirvana possibly stealing Dan Peters, Mudhoney’s drummer. Peters recorded the drums for the Sliver single but ended up playing only one show with Nirvana in September 1990, right before Dave Grohl joined the band. Rich’s full name and address are redacted in the photo only - the actual letter has the full contact information.
