Description: Rare edition- Dated 1992 J.D. Mayhew "Inland Passage" with Humpback Whale's and totem poles Etching On Handmade Paper This is a rare vintage dated 1992 J.D. Mayhew etching on handmade paper titled "Inland Passage". The print is unframed and measuring approximately 22.25" long by 17.25" wide (whale and totem design measures approximately 12.5" long by 17.75" wide). We have a few of them of 350 and the limited edition number will be different from picture. "James Davis Mayhew "D.J." 1925-2004 is a local to the Mendocino Coast since 1971. In his time was one of the North Coast's most outside marine and wildlife artists. He was a master etcher, using copper and zinc plates, painting using oils and watercolor. Using graphite, pen and ink techniques experimented with scrimshaw". This is new old stock, that was never sold to the public, but rattle a number of them were gifted to a close friend of the artist. These are from his friends estate. They are in overall like new condition, with very little slight aged appearance in some areas, please see all photo's as they all seem to be in the same condition as they have been still sealed in their original shipping box till now.
