Description: Rare Antique Cabinet Photo Marinette County Insane Asylum Wisconsin 1905-1906. The photo was found in Wisconsin. The Marinette County Insane Asylum was a mental health institution in Marinette County, Wisconsin. It was built in 1906. The name changed to Marinette County Hospital in 1941, and the last name changed in 1974. The patients were moved to other facilities, and the name was changed to Pine View Health Care Center. I believe it finally closed in 1993—information from the Wisconsin Historical Society website. This is the only picture of the facility on the Internet. The photo looks like it was taken while it was still under construction. CONDITION: The dark grey cabinet card photo has experienced wear and tear, including edge and corner wear, staining, and paper loss. On the photo is printed, "Asylum being constructed at Mar?..." The image is still bright and exhibits spotting, staining, and soiling. Like the front, the back of the card has edge and corner wear, rounding, and paper loss around the corners and edges. The total area is approximately 4-3/4" x 7", while the image measures approximately 3" x 5". Please carefully review all photos for exact condition!
