Description: For Sale - An extremely rare portfolio titled "Star Wars: A Collection of Ten Prints by Gene Day", published in 1977 by Gene Day and Aardvark - Vanaheim Press (of Cerebus The Aardvark Fame) in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.Gene Day made this UNAUTHORIZED portfolio in 1977. He later went on to illustrate many Marvel Comics (Including multiple issues of Star Wars), from 1979 until his death in 1982.This portfolio came to the attention of Lucasfilm in 1977, and a cease and desist order was sent to Vanaheim Press. Vanaheim Press complied with the order, and it was rumored that most of the remaining unsold copies were destroyed. I have included copies of these letters (from internet research)The portfolio was ordinally limited to 250 copies. This particular copy is signed and numbered as #2 / 250.This copy was personally purchased by myself originally, and has been in my possession since.Includes: - Envelope - Cover Letter - Sheet signed & numbered 2 / 250 by Gene Day - 10 prints - copy of cease & desist order - copy of response Own this amazing piece of Star Wars history now!
