Description: Here's a rare red Philco vanity case 4 tube radio from 1956. It's in VERY nice original condition except for whatever material they used for the handle is gone, leaving the center metal cross piece. The radio is not working; just has some AC hum indicating it will need filter capacitors replaced at minimum. It was also designed to operate from batteries, but these particular batteries are no longer made, so AC is about your only option today if you want to make it work. This radio came out very near the end of tube radio era, so you can't just replace a 9V or a few AA batteries like you could do a couple years later! Thanks to ebay/PayPal's current draconian policies regarding returns, we will no longer sell most items as working, but rather "officially" as parts, not working. Also, thanks to the same policies, we will no longer ship directly to any country other than the US. Any overseas buyers must buy thru the ebay shipping program.
