Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the out-of-town tryout of the JACK HERRICK, ROBERT HORN and JOHN L. HABER musical "LONE STAR LOVE" (or "The Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas") at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington. (The production opened September 8th, 2007 and played three weeks in Seattle in preparation for a December 3rd, 2007 opening at New York's Belasco Theatre, however the show closed in Seattle and never arrived on Broadway.) ..... Based on Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor", the musical starred RANDY QUAID (who left the production during the second week) and featured ROBERT CUCCIOLI, DEE HOTY, LAUREN KENNEDY, CLARKE THORELL, RAMONA KELLER, DREW McVETY, DAN SHARKEY, KARA LINDSAY, NICK SULLIVAN, BRANDON WILLIAMS, JEREMY BENTON, STACEY HARRIS, ANNE HORAK, AMANDA LEA LAVERGNE, TONY LAWSON, RYAN MURRAY, MONICA PATTON, MIGUEL A. Side Note: According to "The New York Times" (Sept. 25th, 2007), "The show, after receiving mixed reviews, has canceled its Broadway engagement. Over the past few weeks, Randy Quaid's wife, Evi Quaid , said, there had been backstage bickering between the Quaids and one of the show's producers, Ed Burke . Mr. Quaid had negotiated an unusually high degree of creative approval for the show, and there were disagreements about his interpretation of his character, who is based on Falstaff. 'How do you take a fornicator, an adulterer, an alcoholic and an identity thief and make a family show around him?' Mr. Quaid said in a telephone interview yesterday. Bob Boyett , one of the producers, said the decision to cancel the Broadway engagement was made by all of the producers and the creative team, not just Mr. Burke. 'The reason is,' he said, 'we just feel that the show is not yet ready'." Following Randy Quaid's departure, the 5th Avenue Theatre made an announcement before every performance claiming that he would not be appearing due to illness ..... CREDITS: Conceived by JOHN L.
