Today it has taken countless trout on almost every major stream and river in the US and is particularly effective in the spring. This fly single-handedly helped Lance qualify for the 2003 ESPN Flyfishing Championship. The design of this fly supports it's use for caddis and midges or simply as a searching pattern based on size. Trout in all types of water, even in large stillwater environments, seem to love the attractive qualities of the Rainbow Warrior. I find it absolutely deadly to drop this fly off a 2 fly rig as a dropper below a larger stonefly any time of year. The larger fly often gets the trouts attention and then winds up "taking" the Rainbow Warrior instead of passing on the meal. This listing is for 1/2 dozen size 16 Rainbow Warriors in it's original pattern. You can also get it with a red or black glass beadhead and in a size 14, 18 or 20 if needed.
