Description: Offered for sale is a genuine vintage Pyrex CASSEROLE BAKING DISH WITH LID. The dish is made of white heat-resistant milk glass, and the lid is clear. It has creamy yellow enamel paint on the sides, with a green flowers-and-vines pattern. This is Pyrex item no. 223-B. Casserole and lid are safe for use in oven or microwave. They are NOT meant for range or stove top use, nor for use in a broiler. They should be allowed to come to room temperature slowly, and should NOT be moved directly from oven to freezer without taking the time necessary to allow them to reach room temperature. It's unusual, but temperature shock has been known to cause even heat-resistant glass to shatter. The casserole dish measures 7 5/8 inches (19.4cm) long from handle to handle, and 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) in diameter (OD). It stands just over 3 inches (7.6cm) tall to the rim. A U.S. quarter is shown in the first two pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs, and there are no deep scratches or discoloration. It appears nearly new, with no cooking stains and little to no visible wear. Enamel paint is bright and shiny.
