Description: THIS IS A RARE FIND, DO NOT LET THIS ONE GET AWAY! This is an ORIGINAL Edison Model-N reproducer, as used on the GEM-E and Standard-E machines, and it can be used in a horizontal carriage as well! Domed original body has ZERO pot metal problems. ZERO cracks, ZERO metal swelling! It is as if you just received a Model-N from the Edison factory, but over 112 years late! The diaphragm has had all mechanical tempering removed from it, the link wire is newly made, and I have increased the gauge of the link wire tension spring a little to give it a better anti-rattle ability. The sapphire has been rotated to a fresh new facet, and the diaphragm gaskets have been replaced. ALL GEOMETRY on this is set to FACTORY STANDARD. Fits in the carriage easily, as it did when new. NO METAL HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM BODY TO MAKE IT FIT. I can not stress to you enough, how important this reproducer is. You simply DO NOT FIND THEM in this condition…..E-V-E-R. if you have a 90*degree of 45*degree nipple adapter (if this is to be horizontally mounted), the brass fittings fit PERFECTLY on the reproducer nipple, because the nipple HAS NOT EXPANDED AT ALL!!!!! Does it play? COMMANDINGLY SO! This reproducer originally was developed to play the black wax 4-minute Amberola records, but can also play Blue Amberols without a hitch. Observe the photos, and how is site PERFECT in the carriage, and the stylus bar is in the correct position. Few people in the USA know how to make these play properly, and I am honored to be a recognized expert in this field of Edison restoration. Fully rebuilt and assiduously adjusted.
