GENERAL INFO A stylish model from my collection- the Sony Walkman WM-EX600 cassette player, released in 1999, is one of the most famous models in Sony's elite 'WM-EX' series (along with its identical twin, the WM-EX677). This model is a part of the 20th anniversary Walkman lineup, which is well known for the high quality of models featured in it. Not only does this model look very retro-cool, it also features excellent sound quality in a very slim package. Featuring a fully logic controlled mechanism with auto-reverse, automatic track skip and blank-skip based on Sony's best chassis, this premium Walkman is a very cool (and practical) option for those looking for a high-quality, offline, portable music player without the distraction of a smartphone. The mechanism has been fully serviced, calibrated, demagnetised and rebuilt by myself, and fitted with a new DeckTech belt. The cassette in the photos is not included. TECHNICAL DETAILS Cosmetic condition: Very good - Minor scratching externally, mostly on the door. - Very stylish design. Reminds me of classic models from the 80s. Mechanical condition: Excellent - Plays as it did when new. Excellent clear, balanced sound quality with punchy bass. No audible wow/flutter. - Doesn't contain any electrolytic capacitors in the audio electronics, and is built to last far longer than a traditional Walkman Head condition (Sensitivity at 315hz) -------| Reverse side L:-0.1db |------- -------| Reverse side R:-0.0db |------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------| Forward side R:-0.0db |------- -------| Forward side L:-0.5db |------- A high number is good, but more consistent is best. Battery life: Very good - Around 35 hours (1400mah gumstick battery) - This model uses slim 'gumstick' batteries. These aren't included, but can be found newly-made online for cheap. Search ebay for 'gumstick battery' (such as Doublepow, nicjoy, jinmasi, etc.) Compatibility: - Will play all tape types - Supports compatible Walkman remote controllers (Not included, see infocard for details.) - Will run up to 8-300ohm headphones. Powers my Sennheiser HD-600 (300 ohms) nice and loud, without any issues. - Supports the Dolby B Noise Reduction system Colour legend: Excellent | Very good | Good | Fair | Poor Features: - Auto reverse Plays both sides of the tape automatically - Automatic track skipping (16x speed, 9 tracks) Will automatically search for and play the next/previous song on a tape (FF/REW during playback) - Full logic control Computerized solenoid-based mechanism control - Repeat Repeats the current song indefinitely - Hold Disables all button inputs when this is triggered If there are any issues with this Walkman within the first month, I'll fix it for free.
