Up for grabs is the following item: Uncommonly early inscribed blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink autograph album page, acquired in-person in August of 1941, just two years after her memorable appearance in 1939's The Wizard of Oz. In good condition. After small roles as a cultist in the Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi horror classic The Black Cat (1934) and a nurse in the Onslow Stevens sci-fi flick Life Returns (1935), the adorable Universal starlet was almost entirely confined to B-level oaters directed by William Kent and Sam Katzman. When her contract with the studio was up, she transferred to Republic Pictures, and racked up even more credits in westerns, starring alongside Bob Steele and Johnny Mack Brown. In 1939, she played one of the manicurists spiffing up Dorothy's nails in fantasy favorite The Wizard of Oz.
