I believe a bait that looks different from different angles has a much better chance of being bit by big wary fish in clear water. This bait runs silent with no rattles for these same reasons. I’ve put on stainless steel rings and a trapper shirt shank hook in front, and a wlure cutting point in back. These are the best hooks I have found for the square bill application.
