Description: Pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 hinge plate spacers for adjusting the installation depth of the floorplate hinge into the stock. The spacers were not given a part number by Winchester and they did not appear as a factory part offering, prior to the 1960s. I was told by the Winchester factory in the late 1960s that the spacers had been used at the factory (individually or stacked in multiple numbers) for salvaging 1960-1963 Model 70 standard and Featherweight contract stocks that were inletted too deep at the hinge location. The use of spacers is also an easy way to adjust the depth of the floorplate in older stocks that have the wood compressed from the over-tightening of the forward bottom screw. (These metal spacers will not compress like spacers cut out of cardboard.) I had purchased large quantities of Pre-1964 Model 70 parts from Winchester in the late 1960s and 1970s and I have had these spacers in storage for well over 40 years. They are stamped out of unplaited sheet metal and they have a surface patina from storage. I am selling the spacers as used parts because of the surface staining, Some of the spacers in this inventory are actually used parts I had salvaged from decommissioned Model 70s that I had taken apart for parts sales. I still have a total of 387 spacers available and I have them priced in a quantity of 10 spacers as a grouping for the price of $20 plus $2.00 shipping in the US.
